The Cleansing Balm That Changed My Mind: My Honest Review of F91 by Olive Tree People

If you’ve followed me for a while, you know I used to be obsessed with Beauty Counter’s Cleansing Balm. Since then, I’ve tried several others, hoping to find something that matched its texture and effectiveness—but nothing came close. Either they felt waxy, sat on top of my skin, or just didn’t do what I needed them to do.

So when Olive Tree People launched their new F91 Corrective Cleansing Balm, I was hopeful… but skeptical.

Spoiler alert: I’m already obsessed.

It feels like butter. Not exaggerating. It melts beautifully into your skin, effortlessly dissolving makeup, SPF, and daily grime—without tugging or leaving behind a film.

Because it’s waterless, you only need a tiny amount. This jar will last you months—I’d say 4 to 6 depending on how often you use it.

It’s housed in Oliveda’s signature dark amber jar—filled to the top (no bulky glass tricks here). The green color? That’s from its hero ingredient: Arbequina Olive Fruit Oil—an antioxidant-rich, anti-inflammatory oil that makes your skin glow.

Other star ingredients include:

  • Jojoba oil
  • Sunflower wax and oil
  • Vanilla + Lavender essential oil (calming, not overpowering)

No irritation. No breakouts. No purging. Just soft, smooth, calm skin that felt deeply clean. And I have super sensitive skin, so this is no small thing.

I’ve also heard from clients and friends with acne-prone, oily, dry, and combination skin—they all love it. The formula is designed to support the skin barrier and avoid clogging pores, so it works beautifully across skin types.

Water-based cleansers often need added preservatives or irritants to stay shelf-stable. This balm skips that.

Instead, it’s packed with pure, high-performance botanicals that don’t dilute or strip your skin. It’s like giving your skin a nourishing treatment every single night.

This balm is my:

  • Makeup remover
  • First step of a double cleanse
  • Lymphatic massage tool
  • Spa-night facial mask
  • Dirt-and-grime dissolver (even for my kids!)

I didn’t expect to love this as much as I do. It’s taken the #1 spot in my skincare routine.

Would I recommend it as someone’s first product from the line? If they’re used to balms, yes. If not, I’d guide them through a more customized intro.

But honestly? If your skin’s been craving something more nourishing and effective—this might be it.
