My Coastal Home Office Design

I grew up in Southern New Jersey, often spending summers at Ocean City New Jersey. There’s nothing more calming than sand in your toes, the warm sun on your skin, and the sound of the waves crashing on the shore.

I wanted to bring that same calm to my home office space without it being too beachy/coastal/nautical. I started with my favorite shades of blue. The blue paint that I actually ended up going with was Sherwin Williams Adrift – SW 7608 in flat. This room has a huge picture window that gets light most of the day, so I didn’t want the light reflecting off the walls.

I then went ahead and ordered the wallpaper, not knowing that 1. the paint I chose would be darker in the room than it was on that little paint square and 2. not knowing exactly what shade of blue the waves were in the wallpaper. My goal was NOT to have them be the same shade. I was going for the painted walls to be lighter, but alas! It turned out perfectly regardless and the blues match flawlessly! *insert happy dance*

Our last rental had Lake Erie in the backyard, so we are going to get one of our sunset pictures printed pretty large and framed with a light wood to hand on the blank wall. The rest of the pieces are going to be natural and cozy. This space is huge, so we are combining it as a sitting room and it is also connected to the dining room.

Here’s the inspiration board that I put together and I’ve added affiliate link below in case anything on the board catches your eye too!

I can’t wait to share more progress with you as I work on this space between mommin’ and working.

I want to know, what’s your favorite part about this inspiration board?
